PinQuant ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, which connects to the Pinterest API on your behalf to provide analytics and insights.
By using PinQuant, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Pinterest Account Data
When you connect your Pinterest account, PinQuant requests read-only OAuth access to retrieve:
- Your public profile information (username, display name, follower count)
- Your Pins, Boards, and associated metadata
- Analytics data for your content (impressions, saves, outbound clicks, engagement rates)
- Audience demographic summaries provided by the Pinterest API
- Trend and keyword data available through the Pinterest Trends API
We request only the minimum OAuth scopes necessary to provide the analytics features described in our product. We do not request write access and cannot create, modify, or delete any content on your Pinterest account.
1.2 Account Information
When you register for PinQuant, we collect your name and email address for account management and communication purposes.
1.3 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, and session duration. This data is used solely to improve the product.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the PinQuant analytics platform
- Compute derived metrics (such as engagement efficiency scores and trend forecasts) from your Pinterest data
- Display your analytics and insights within your personal dashboard
- Send you product updates, feature announcements, and support communications (you may opt out at any time)
- Improve and develop new features based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information or Pinterest data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or commercial purposes.
We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Trusted third-party vendors who assist us in operating the platform (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics infrastructure), bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, with prior notice to you.
4. Pinterest API Compliance
PinQuant is built on the Pinterest API v5 and operates in full compliance with the Pinterest API Terms of Service and Pinterest's Privacy Policy. Specifically:
- We access only the data scopes explicitly authorised by you during the OAuth flow.
- We do not use Pinterest data to build profiles for advertising or to train machine-learning models for sale.
- We do not cache Pinterest data beyond the retention periods permitted by Pinterest's API Terms.
- PinQuant is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pinterest, Inc.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Pinterest analytics data fetched via the API is cached for short periods (typically 24 hours) to reduce redundant API calls, after which it is refreshed or discarded. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure credential storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
- Revoke Pinterest API access from your Pinterest account settings at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@pinquant.com.

PinQuant uses essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
9. Children's Privacy
PinQuant is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of PinQuant after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
